I am very excited about teaching at Neumann-Goretti High School. I look forward to sharing my gifts and learning from the school community.
Joselli Audian Deans performed with the New York based Dance Theatre of Harlem for eleven years. She toured with the company to twenty countries on five continents. Highlights of her career include performing in the 1984 Summer Olympics Summer ceremonies in Los Angeles.
After pursuing her academic studies in theology and dance, Deans worked on the faculty of artistic institutions such as New Freedom Theatre and Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco). She has also served as faculty in academic institutions such as Bryn Mawr, Eastern University, Franciscan University of Steubenville, the Institution for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of New Orleans, Temple University and John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School. Among other professional activities, Deans serves as the consultant for Shirley Road Productions, NEA sponsored documentary film, Black Ballerina, presently in production.
