I am privileged to be teaching at Neumann Goretti, a place where I can share my passion: Art! Room 222 is an art studio where students can grow in their creative expression through drawing, painting, printmaking, 2-D, 3-D and computer assisted design, sculpture and ceramics!
An artist is a lifelong learner. My Artistic Journey has been a shared experience; my own exploration of artistic media and processes both enriches and is enriched by teaching. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teaching artist. My undergraduate courses introduced me to drawing, painting, print-making, sculpture, constructive design, and art history. My years at PAFA strengthened that training, and MCAD fueled my passion for sharing art through teaching. UArt’s MFA program provided the opportunity to refuel my passion for ceramics, set up a studio practice, and exhibit my work regularly. Teaching students aged six to eighty in after-school, summer enrichment and senior programs, and participating in Moore’s Young Artist Workshop as both teacher and Coordinator have allowed me to share my love of art. While teaching at Neumann-Goretti, grants from cooperative programs (PA Arts and Education, Asian Initiative, Art Futures/Philadelphia Museum of Art) have enriched the curriculum as students learn new skills, create, and exhibit their work. A teacher is a lifelong learner, and my students continue to inspire me daily!
