Philadelphia Museum of Art Exhibit at NG
Philadelphia Museum of Art Inside Out Exhibit at Neumann Goretti
Good morning students and faculty:
To celebrate the arrival of the famous painting of The Annunciation by Henry Ossawa Tanner, we will host a summer-long prayer grotto. You’re invited to participate by hanging your prayer petitions on the grotto.
Inspired by the Knotted Grotto at the Basilica of SS Peter & Paul during the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia, the NG Grotto will be on display along with the renowned painting in front of the school’s entrance at 1736 S. 10th Street through August.
Friends and neighbors can view the famous painting of the Blessed Mother that is part of the Philadelphia Art Museum’s Inside-Out: Art in Unexpected Places program.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, May 19, from 7-9 p.m., on the lawn beside the Exhibit. Prayer ribbons for your petitions will be available at the ceremony. Prayer Ribbons will be available for purchase during lunch periods tomorrow, Friday, May 19. The Ribbons will be $2 and will go toward the students and facility of NG.
A prayer service to bless the intentions will be held in August and the prayer ribbons will be re-purposed into one of the high school’s renovations projects, where they will forever be part of the community. Please contact me if you have any questions.
