Senior Spotlight: Joe Messina

Joe Messina, a current senior at Ss. Neumann Goretti tells us why he has chosen to attend LaSalle University and how SNG has prepared him for this decision.

I chose LaSalle because in many ways it reminded me of the community here at SNG. On my visit, I loved the tight-knit atmosphere and the many personable people that I met. I felt as if it was a great fit for me academically and athletically. It also helped that it is close to home so I get to stay near my family and friends.  I haven’t decided on a specific major, but it is going to be in business.

After high school, I plan on attending LaSalle University where I will play college baseball. I will major in a Business related field and hope one day to find a career involving the worlds of sports and business.

Neumann-Goretti has shaped me into the person I am today. The people I have met and the relationships I made can never be duplicated. This school has prepared me to go out into the real world and face new challenges head on. Most importantly, it has helped me become a leader and has given me the confidence to succeed past college.

My main piece of advice I would give to current NG students is to take it all in while you can. Life flies by and this time in your life is all about creating unforgettable memories with great people that you will keep throughout your life. Also, don’t be afraid to be a leader in and outside the classroom. Being a leader opens up many doors and opportunities in life and will get you very far.
