Game Changer: The Vision of Our Athletic Director

By Madison Powers

Mr Caserio is way more than just a wonderful athletic director/gym teacher. He is always doing whatever it takes to make Neumann Goretti the best. When asked why he does this, he said that he is invested not only because he was a graduate of Neumann himself, but when he got released from his last job he wasn’t sure what to do next. “This opportunity presented itself and I thought it was a great way to get back into the field.” Mr. Caserio’s favorite sports are baseball and football, but when it comes to the Neumann Goretti sports teams he supports them all a great amount.

The support Mr. Caserio shows for his students and all the athletes stems from the amount of support he receives from his parents. “My parents are my biggest inspiration because they sacrificed to make sure that my brothers and I had a good life. We didn’t have everything, but we had enough.” Mr. Caserio loves working at Neumann Goretti for many reasons, but the students are what pushes him to be the best. “I try to be a mentor to my students to help them develop and grow and succeed in life. I want them to be the best version of themselves.” If Mr. Caserio had not found this job, he would have also liked to teach a sports management class at a college.

Whenever a student has a problem they need to discuss with someone, they know Mr. Caserio is the right person to go to. “I think I’m very approachable and I go above and beyond for my students because I want them to succeed in life.” Ever since Mr. Caserio’s senior year in high school, specifically when he quit football, he found motivation to succeed and not give up. Mr. Caserio’s advice to all of you is to never give up on yourself and not be afraid to make mistakes. “Not every day is going to be sunshine and rainbows. You’re going to have a lot of times when there are ups and downs. I look at like like a baseball season. There are a lot of ups and downs, but in the end, it is always going to work out.”
