Quick Tips for Staying Energized
By Kellsey Black
In today’s fast-paced world, we often treat ourselves like a phone running on 20% battery, constantly multitasking and pushing through each day without enough time to recharge. Just as a phone needs downtime to work at its best, our minds and bodies need regular breaks to avoid burnout. Here’s how students and teachers alike can avoid feeling “overheated” from school stress and stay energized throughout the day.
1. Take Breaks Regularly
Working or studying nonstop without breaks can drain our concentration and creativity. Just like the Energizer Bunny, even the most motivated among us run out of energy after a while. Taking short, intentional breaks—whether to stretch, breathe deeply, or take a brief walk—helps recharge your mind and return to tasks with renewed focus.
2. Make Time for Yourself
Set aside a bit of time each week just for you, whether it’s taking a warm shower, reading a favorite book, or doing a hobby you love. These moments help us feel grounded, refreshed, and ready to take on the day with more positivity.
3. Eat Well to Feel Well
Eating nutritious meals is key to staying energized and productive. While it’s easy to reach for takeout, try to include more fruits, veggies, and lean proteins to help your body feel fuller, more energized, and ready for the day’s demands.
4. Get Moving
Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore. Find an activity you enjoy, like dancing, yoga, or a quick jog, and try to fit in 30 minutes a few days a week. Exercise reduces stress, boosts mood, and keeps you energized.
5. Meditate and Reflect
Spend a few minutes each day in quiet reflection or prayer. Turn off distractions, breathe deeply, and let go of daily stresses. This time for self-reflection not only helps with relaxation but also strengthens focus and resilience.
These small changes can make a big difference in keeping you feeling strong, clear-minded, and ready to take on the day!
