Over the past week here at Neumann Goretti, we celebrated our annual Catholic Schools Week. Catholic Schools Week consists of dressing in different themes, playing games, and having a school-wide mass. During this week our school collected canned goods for a food drive which was donated to the less fortunate. Each grade also competed in hallway decorating where they decorated their homeroom floor with the theme that they chose. The students of NG received tickets throughout the week when they did something deserving of it and added it to their class bucket of tickets. Whichever class received the most tickets won.
On Monday, our first day of catholic school week, the theme was Jersey Day. On this day each student got the chance to represent their favorite sports team or favorite player. On Tuesday we had a crazy sock day, but wore our uniform with them due to the school-wide mass. Character day was celebrated on Wednesday, which is when students get the opportunity to dress up as their favorite character. During this time they also got the chance to join in a game of family feud where each grade went head to head. It created a fun and competitive atmosphere for the students to let their personalities shine. The next day our theme was Decades Day. Everyone got to pick their favorite decade and dress like they were living in it. It was a cool experience to see how people used to dress in each decade. Thursday was also the day that the hallway decorating was judged. Lastly, Friday was the day for students to show off their class colors and compete in various games. The seniors ended up winning the ticket challenge, which earned them a free dress-down. We always look forward to Catholic Schools Week in this school and can’t wait for next year!
