The Impact of Your Support!
Neumann Goretti can’t thank our generous alumni, donors, and partners for responding in such a positive and overwhelming way to our Alumni Stimulus Assistance Plan (ASAP) appeal. When we kicked this off in early May, we were unsure what the response would be. With COVID-19 and a serious drop in our nation’s economy, we knew many individuals and families were deciding between putting food on the table for their children, keeping a roof over their heads, paying past due bills, and sending in tuition payments. By asking you to consider a gift during this challenging time, we were taking a huge risk.
Well, here it is mid-September and we can share with you that the ASAP appeal has realized $340,000 in donations to help with tuition relief and need-based scholarships for our cash-strapped families. This is 68% of our overall goal and we’re not finished yet. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate your contributions to Neumann Goretti. Our tuition officer, Mrs. Arrigale, has been using these funds to allocate tuition assistance to many students with the greatest financial need so they can continue their education at the finest Catholic high school in all of Philadelphia.
Our students have returned to 1736 S. 10th Street for the 2020-2021 school year in a hybrid model of in-person and virtual learning. All precautions have been taken to be mindful of the health and safety needs of these young adults, our outstanding faculty and staff, and the administration team that is overseeing and monitoring this academic environment. If you would like to reach out to us with any questions about the ASAP appeal or our resource development plans, please email Duke Doblick, CFRE, Director of Institutional Advancement, at ndoblick@neumanngorettihs.org, or call Duke directly at 302-757-6095.
Please know that we will be praying for your continued safety and health, while thanking God, St. John Neumann, and St. Maria Goretti for inspiring you to partner with us in this unprecedented financial effort.
