The School Transformation Update

Dear Neumann-Goretti Community Members,

Looking ahead to the 2015-2016 school year, Neumann-Goretti is poised to begin a new chapter in the school’s rich history. As our nation’s economy and job market have evolved, so to have the knowledge, skills, and character required to be successful beyond high school. To ensure our graduates are the most competitive applicants for colleges and jobs beyond their time with us, the school will continue its evolution into a premier, Catholic, coeducational college preparatory high school.

To guarantee that all Neumann-Goretti students are provided an outstanding Catholic, college preparatory high school education, we are strengthening our curriculum and course offerings. Not only are we elevating the rigor of our academic program, we also are improving our academic supports for students. We recognize that in order for all students to be successful under this school model, higher expectations must be paired with expanded supports. As such, Neumann-Goretti has redefined its expectations for teachers to ensure our students receive the level and quality of support necessary for their success.

For many reasons, approximately half of the teaching staff have opted not to return to Neumann-Goretti. The remaining faculty and our new teachers have all committed to meeting the new academic and cultural changes we believe are necessary to make our education experience great. These changes  are critical to ensuring that all members of the Neumann-Goretti community are fully vested in the school’s vision and expectations for our students. We are incredibly excited about what our students have accomplished this year and look forward to celebrating many more successes in the year ahead.

Have a wonderful summer!
